Liverpool are heading off to Dubai for a training camp and young midfielder Dominic Corness has secured a spot on the plane.

The World Cup break will be coming to an end before you know it with Liverpool already gearing up for Premier League action.

Liverpool will be preparing for their Premier League return against Aston Villa on Boxing Day but they do have a few games before then.

DOMINIC CORNESS INCLUDED IN LIVERPOOL SQUAD

Liverpool still have a number of players involved in the World Cup.

Jurgen Klopp has though named a squad for the trip to Dubai, including a host of young players to fill in for the senior stars still in Qatar.

Notable youngsters like Stefan Bajcetic, Ben Doak, Bobby Clark and Layton Stewart are all included in the Liverpool squad.

The flight departed earlier today and there was a spot on the plane for Dominic Corness in a move that may have surprised some.

Corness, 19, plays predominantly as a midfielder and has been on the Liverpool books since the age of five.

A regular at Under-18 and Under-21 levels, Corness has yet to make his first-team debut for Liverpool.

Corness has even filled in as a centre back this season and has shown his versatility by featuring as a left back and a striker.

Liverpool’s official website notes that Corness is ‘blessed with great vision’ and is an ‘excellent’ set-piece taker, which may well have attracted Klopp.

The teenager signed a new deal in November and he now has a great opportunity to go and impress Klopp over in Dubai.

Nailing down a first-team spot is difficult and hard to imagine but Trent Alexander-Arnold managed it and Corness will hope to follow in his footsteps after this training call-up.
