Arsenal are now keen to sign Tottenham target Enzo Fernandez in 2023, although they look set to lose out to Liverpool.
WHAT’S THE STORY?
Well, it was O Jogo in Portugal who claimed that Arsenal have become interested in Fernandez following his superb performances for Argentina at the World Cup.
The Portuguese news outlet also mentions that Tottenham is keen to sign the South American, who played a vital role in Qatar as Argentina won their third World Cup.
Fernandez was named Young Player of the Tournament as a result of his fine displays.
However, disappointment could be on the horizon for both Mikel Arteta and Antonio Conte.
According to another of Portugal’s leading news outlets – Record – Fernandez has agreed to join Jürgen Klopp at Anfield after Liverpool approached for his signature.
Interestingly – according to La Gazzetta Express – Benfica has just signed Emre Can on loan, which suggests the German international could be arriving as a replacement for Fernandez.
The £41,312-a-week man made five starts in Qatar – scoring one goal while also providing one assist.
For Benfica, Fernandez has scored three goals and set up a further five in 24 appearances.
ARSENAL & TOTTENHAM WILL BE GREEN WITH ENVY IF LIVERPOOLSIGNSN FERNANDEZ
In our view, the Gunners and Spurs will be furious if Liverpool has beaten them to Fernandez.
The 21-year-old is already one of the best midfielders in Europe, and if he continues on his current trajectory, he could certainly become the best midfielder around in a few years.

If that does happen, it would be even more painful for Arsenal and Tottenham, as Fernandez will be shining for their Premier League rivals in England, giving them a constant reminder of what they missed out on.
Keep an eye on this situation, as it seems Benfica are preparing to lose their No.13 in 2023.
