Liverpool midfielder James Milner has been speaking about one of his teammates that he believes can reach the very top of the game in the future.

Liverpool midfielder James Milner has been praising Darwin Núñez, and believes that the Uruguayan will reach the very top in the years to come.

Milner was speaking to Amazon Prime Sport’s YouTube channel, and talked about Núñez and his untapped potential.

“He’s got everything to score a lot of goals at Liverpool. He’s come to a new country, he can’t speak too much English yet. He’s a great lad, some of the banter he is having, he’s learning English,” Milner said.

“People underestimate how difficult it is. It’s the same sport, but you’re moving your family, it’s a different language, different food, weather. It’s a big step, but the attributes he has, finishing, both feet, in the air, he works his nuts off. He will be top, no doubt about that.”

As Milner alluded to, the off-the-pitch aspect of moving to a new club isn’t taken into consideration by many fans. Núñez’s struggles early in the season was no doubt down to this early settling in period into a new country and language.

So far, Núñez has scored five goals and two assists in the Premier League for Liverpool but there is so much more still to come.
