Liverpool have discovered when they will play Wolves in their FA Cup third round replay.

Liverpool have discovered when they travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers for their FA Cup third round replay – for what could prove their final such fixture in the competition.

The Reds will be at Molineux on Tuesday, January 17 (kick-off 7.45pm) for a game that will be shown live on BBC1.

Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah both found the target in an action-packed 2-2 draw between the teams in the initial tie at Anfield last Saturday evening.

Liverpool have already been eliminated from the FA Cup twice before by Wolves under Jurgen Klopp, losing 2-1 at home in the fourth round in 2017 and by the same scoreline away in the third round two years later.

With discussions ongoing over the future of English football – including plans to reform the FA Cup – next week’s game could be the Reds’ last-ever replay in the competition. At present, replays take place up to and including the fourth round.

Should Klopp’s side progress, they will again face Premier League opposition with a trip to Brighton and Hove Albion in the fourth round. Liverpool have been paired with the Seagulls five times previously in the FA Cup, progressing on three occasions including the most recent meeting in 2012.
