BEST EVER-Liverpool transfer news: 3 midfielders on shortlist for deal in next 15 days

Liverpool do want to sign a midfielder in this transfer window, according to reports. The Reds have three players in mind.

This comes from Football Transfers. They claim that Liverpool do want to sign a midfielder this month, despite claims otherwise.

The Reds are in poor form right now and there’s a sense that they need to improve their midfield. The report suggests ‘work is certainly being done in the background’ right now – but a lot of it is hope.

But Liverpool have three names in mind right now. Teun Koopmeiners, Khephren Thuram and Manu Kone are on the shortlist, though the Reds need things to fall their way. None of the trio are obviously available to sign.

The club will continue to work and possibly find a deal, though. If something does pop up and a situation eases a little, Liverpool will attempt to move in the next 15 days. At least, they hope to.

Liverpool aim for transfer

Koopmeiners is an interesting one. I News claim that Liverpool do want him, while Tutto Atalanta in Italy have said similar.

The suggestions are that Koopmeiners would cost around £35m to get in January. It’s a sizeable fee and one that Liverpool may struggle to pay if they harbour dreams of major summer signings.

But Koopmeiners could be a fantastic signing. His wonderful goal for Atalanta during the week shows that off, while he’s still only 24. Liverpool could get a player whose both in form and coming towards his prime years – exactly the kind of signing they’ve had such success with in recent years.

However, none of it sounds likely. The report from Football Transfers suggests they’re not actually near any sort of deal for a player, while Jurgen Klopp strongly denied there was available money for players.

Liverpool are running out of time to find a January signing for their midfield, with the transfer window shutting in a little over a fortnight.
