Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has told the club’s official website that he is not happy to hear some saying that Sean Dyche’s Everton did not do their best against them like they did against Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
Klopp has said that Liverpool should be given credit for the way they won against Everton, dismissing any suggestion that the Toffees did not try as hard as they did against Arsenal.
On February 4, Everton beat Arsenal 1-0 at Goodison Park in the Premier League.
It was Sean Dyche’s first game in charge of the Toffees.
Then on February 13, Everton went down 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield in the Merseyside derby.
The Toffees remain in real danger of getting relegated from the Premier League at the end of the season.
Arsenal are aiming to win the Premier League title this season, while Liverpool are looking to finish in the top four.
LIVERPOOL BOSS JURGEN KLOPP ON ARSENAL AND EVERTON
Klopp said: “People said after the game that Everton didn’t do this or that as much as they did against Arsenal; I really think it was because we did particularly well, to be honest, in that game.”
DESERVED WINNERS
We believe that Liverpool deservedly picked up all three points against Everton in the Merseyside derby this week.
The Reds should be given credit for the way they beat the Toffees and won the Premier League game.
While Everton were better than Arsenal at Goodison Park, Liverpool were better than Sean Dyche’s side at Anfield.
There can be no argument about that.
If Everton could not execute their gameplan against Liverpool, then it is because the Reds did not let them.
