Real Madrid and Liverpool have been involved in some epic contests on the pitch in recent years, including a couple of UEFA Champions League finals.
The two sides met in the last 16 of the competition this season, with Los Blancos coming out on top. On the other hand, they are believed to have some common transfer targets. And it looks like the Reds have made their offer for one of them already.
The player in question is none other than Jude Bellingham. The Englishman could leave Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and might very well be the most in-demand talent in all of football.
It is not hard to see why either. At 19 years of age, he is already amongst the best midfielders on the planet and is proven at every level of the game, for both club and country. And it looks like Liverpool has taken the first step in their attempt to sign Bellingham.
As reported by CaughtOffside, Liverpool has made Borussia Dortmund an offer of £84 million (€95 million) for Bellingham.
Liverpool makes £84 million offer for Real Madrid target
Bellingham is a superstar in the making if he is not already there. He has been one of the best players in the Bundesliga this season as Borussia Dortmund put up an unlikely challenge for the league title.
Someone like Bellingham could be perfect for the Real Madrid midfield. Especially with the long-term futures of Luka Modric and Toni Kroos, two all-time legends of the club, up in the air.
It is hard to see Borussia Dortmund accepting a figure lower than €100 million for Bellingham. It was just in January that we saw Chelsea sign Enzo Fernandez for a figure around €121 million. And while the Argentine might have won the World Cup, he does not have anywhere close to the experience that the Englishman has at the top level in Europe.
