How Liverpool could line up after £130m triple deal to transform midfield

Published

on

Liverpool’s squad for the upcoming campaign could soon start to take shape as transfer plans continue.

Liverpool will soon be reporting back for pre-season as they prepare to attack a new season.

The Reds will be eager to right the wrongs of last campaign, which ended without any trophies being claimed and the team out of the Champions League places.

Getting back to being a side capable of competing for the biggest prizes will require Liverpool to add to their armoury, a process already started by the arrival of Alexis Mac Allister.

Midfield is the key area in need of attention, particularly having bid farewell to three players in this position this summer, and plenty of names have been mentioned as possible targets for Jurgen Klopp. Below, we have taken a speculative look at how the Reds could be lining up by the time the new Premier League season begins in August (based on a 3-2-2-3 formation).

There is no disputing Alisson Becker will be starting between the sticks for the Reds next season after cementing his status as one of the greatest goalkeepers in the world. The Brazilian was, unsurprisingly, named Liverpool’s Player of the Season for 2022/23, having been one of the few individuals to maintain a level of consistency.

Micky van de Ven

It remains to be seen what happens as regards Liverpool’s formation for next year, though it is anticipated Klopp could stick to the system which brought success in the latter stages of last term. Andy Robertson could continue to slot in as a left-sided centre-back, though the Reds could do with further options in this department. Wolfsburg defender Micky van de Ven has been linked with a move to Anfield and may fancy his chances of developing a strong connection with fellow Dutchman, Virgil van Dijk. It has been €30m (£26m) is the asking price that has been set by his Bundesliga club.

Virgil van Dijk

Liverpool’s strongest and most consistent defender, despite some doubting his ability last season. Van Dijk will be a go-to figure once again for the club in 2023/24 and should be backed to return to the heights witnessed during the remarkable quadruple challenge.

Ibrahima Konate

The Frenchman has gradually developed into a key player for Klopp, having been brought to Anfield two years ago. Van Dijk’s long-term successor, Konate is learning from the best in the business but still has some way to go to reach the level of the Reds’ No.4.

Khephren Thuram

A player of interest to Liverpool, Thuram is currently in action for France at the under-21s European Championships alongside Manu Kone – another individual being heavily linked with an Anfield switch. Nice are said to be seeking £35m for the 22-year-old, who would bring some much-needed physically to the midfield.

Trent Alexander-Arnold

Shining in his inverted full-back role in recent months, it would be a major surprise to see Klopp abandon this approach. The West Derby-born star will rely on cover from the likes of Konate and Van Dijk at times, though this is a risk worth taking due to his unrivalled attacking output.

Dominik Szoboszlai

Liverpool are interested in the 22-year-old Hungarian, who has demonstrated just what a threat he can be during his two-year stay with RB Leipzig. The towering midfielder is no stranger to popping up with a goal from distance and has also showcased his ability from set-piece situations. It is understood Szoboszlai has a £60m release clause, which is reportedly set to expire on June 30.

Alexis Mac Allister

The Argentina international is almost guaranteed to be in the Reds’ starting eleven for Premier League fixtures after his £35m arrival, offering an instant upgrade on players currently available to Klopp. Mac Allister’s versatility makes him an undoubted asset, though the left-sided midfield role occupied by Curtis Jones last term seems to be the natural fit.

Luis Diaz

Missed so much while sidelined through injury, Liverpool will be hoping the Colombian winger can remain fit for the entirety of next year. Diaz’s pace and dribbling skills make him a nightmare for defenders and it very much feels like the best is still to come from the former Porto man.

Cody Gakpo

Gakpo enjoyed a seamless transition to life at Liverpool after leaving PSV Eindhoven during the January transfer window and will be looking to maintain his impressive start, albeit at the expense of Darwin Nunez. Nunez still has work to do in order to justify leading the line for the Reds on a weekly basis, with this a responsibility Gakpo should be given for the time being at least.

Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian forward’s 46 goal contributions in all competitions for 2022/23 make him an undroppable member of this squad. Salah has continued to shine year on year at the club and will be fancied to be the difference-maker on the right side of the attack as Liverpool look to mount a title challenge.

Potential line-up with players wanted and rumoured targets:

Alisson; Konate, Van Dijk, Van de Ven; Alexander-Arnold, Thuram; Szoboszlai, Mac Allister; Salah, Gakpo, Diaz.

Liverpool involved in ‘three-player swap deal’ to sign Alexander Isak alternative that would officially win the transfer window

Published

Liverpool have been linked with a ‘three-player swap deal’ to sign an Alexander Isak alternative, according to stunning reports.

Liverpool involved in 'three-player swap deal' to sign Alexander Isak alternative that would officially win the transfer window

Liverpool have already been busy this summer, having snapped up Bayer Leverkusen duo Jeremie Frimpong and Florian Wirtz.

Frimpong commanded a transfer fee of £29.5 million while Wirtz cost a club-record £116 million.

Arne Slot, who delivered the Premier League title in his debut season at the club, is eager to recruit more talent ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

A new No.9 is thought to be on Liverpool and Slot’s radar, with several names linked with a move.

Isak’s name has been mooted following his prolific spell with Newcastle United, where he scored 23 league goals last season.

But a deal is unlikely to be reached as Newcastle are holding out for a staggering fee.

However, Liverpool could turn their attention to Victor Osimhen, who enjoyed a superb loan spell at Galatasaray from Napoli last season.

He bagged an impressive 37 goals across all competitions.

Osimhen has since been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Al Hilal.

And it appears Liverpool are also keeping tabs on his situation.

What’s more, Liverpool could offer Napoli not one but two players in exchange for Osimhen.

That’s according to Italian journalist Valter de Maggio, who claims Federico Chiesa and Darwin Nunez could be used as makeweight in a potential deal to sign Osimhen.

“There is a market connection between Napoli and Liverpool. The English club wants Osimhen and Napoli, from this point of view, do not make any discounts on the clause, therefore asking for €75million (£64/$86m) as per the contract,” said De Maggio.

“The sporting director of the Neapolitan club, Giovanni Manna, has tried to ask for information for the two Reds forwards, namely Darwin Nunez and former Juventus player Federico Chiesa.”

He added: “Liverpool would have opened up to Napoli by proposing an equal exchange between the players involved in this operation.

“Aurelio De Laurentiis, however, has other ideas and is not listening: the president of the blue club is asking for Chiesa, Nunez and €20million (£17m/$23m) for Osimhen’s registration.”

Chiesa and Nunez have been linked with a move away from Liverpool this summer.

The Italian winger played a bit-part role last season following his switch from Juventus.

As for Nunez, he has largely failed to impress since his £85 million transfer in the summer of 2022.

Liverpool Agree to Sell Defender in €30m Deal – Medical Set as Leverkusen Close In

Liverpool reach agreement to sell player in permanent transfer – Medical now being prepared

Liverpool have reached a full agreement to sell defender Jarell Quansah to Bayer Leverkusen in a permanent deal worth €30 million plus bonuses, according to reports from Germany. The transfer is now in its final stages, with the player’s medical examination already being prepared.

Renowned Sky Deutschland journalist Florian Plettenberg broke the news on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), confirming that Leverkusen have sealed a deal with Liverpool to sign the 22-year-old centre-back. Quansah is expected to sign a five-year contract with the Bundesliga club once medicals are completed next week.

Quansah made 25 appearances under Arne Slot last season and has attracted growing attention with his composure, strength, and ability to play out from the back. His development has impressed several clubs across Europe, but Leverkusen have now taken the decisive step to secure his signature — especially after the recent departure of defensive stalwart Jonathan Tah.

Interestingly, this isn’t the only business between the two clubs this summer. Florian Wirtz, Bayer Leverkusen’s midfield gem, is also edging closer to a high-profile move in the opposite direction. The 22-year-old German international reportedly arrived in the UK on Thursday to undergo medical tests ahead of a record-breaking move to Liverpool, which could become the most expensive transfer in British football history.

With Quansah set for a new chapter in the Bundesliga and Wirtz on the verge of becoming Anfield’s newest star, the summer window is heating up fast for both clubs.

If all goes according to plan, Quansah’s transfer will be made official in the coming days, marking a major defensive addition for Erik ten Hag’s side and another high-profile exit from Anfield.

Stay tuned for more updates as both clubs look to finalise paperwork and confirm medicals.

“We Chose Not to Share It”: Isaac Kearney’s Secret Reaction to Trent’s Departure Leaves Fans Heartbroken

Published

on

In the world of football, farewells are never easy — not for players, not for fans, and certainly not for those whose hearts beat for the game in the purest form.

We Only Shared the Good

One such heart is that of young Isaac Kearney.

When news broke about Trent Alexander-Arnold’s departure, fans were eager to know how Isaac, a devoted Liverpool supporter, felt about it. His passion for the Reds and his unmistakable connection to the game have always been evident, especially through the eyes of his loving mum, Melissa.

One fan, curious and concerned, asked Melissa directly:

“How did Isaac react to Trent leaving?”

Her response was simple, honest — and quietly devastating:

“He was actually sad… we just chose not to share 😢 It’s going to be an emotional summer for us if any more players leave 😬”

That single sentence revealed a world of emotion that had remained hidden — a little boy processing the departure of one of his heroes, in silence. While many fans posted their farewells and tributes, Isaac’s grief was private, tender, and unspoken.

After Opening Up About Isaac’s Health, Melissa and Son Send Touching Message to Supporters

The choice not to share his sadness was perhaps a way to protect his vulnerability — or maybe it was too raw to put into words. But now that the truth is out, fans are rallying around him with messages of love and support.

He doesn’t need to say it — we can feel it through Melissa’s words,” one supporter commented.

It breaks my heart knowing he held that in. Kids like Isaac remind us why football is more than just a game.”

As the summer unfolds and transfer news continues to shake the football world, Isaac’s mum has already prepared fans for the emotional ride ahead.

“It’s going to be an emotional summer for us if anymore players leave.”

Isaac may be young, but his loyalty runs deep. His silence speaks volumes — and it’s a powerful reminder that behind every football headline is someone quietly feeling the weight of change.

For Isaac and so many others like him, football isn’t just a sport. It’s connection. It’s family. And it’s heroes like Trent who leave behind not just a gap in the team, but a hole in a young fan’s heart.

In a moment that has touched hearts across social media, Melissa recently opened up about how young Florence is beginning to understand her brother Isaac Kearney’s health condition — and her words have left fans emotional.

It started with a simple question from a concerned follower:
“Does Flo know that Isaac is sick or that she is physically ahead?”

Melissa’s honest response was nothing short of moving.

“Yes, she is starting to understand more now… she asks so many questions. But she is so good, and she knows when he needs help and exactly what he needs — and she is always there to help him ❤️”

For many, this moment revealed something extraordinary — a little girl’s deep sense of empathy, awareness, and pure love for her brother.

While Isaac continues to face health challenges, Florence’s quiet strength and willingness to stand by him have become a symbol of hope. She’s not just his sister; she’s becoming his little guardian, his friend, and his helper — often knowing what he needs without a single word spoken.

Fans have since flooded the comment sections with love and admiration. Many say they were moved to tears reading Melissa’s words, while others shared stories of siblings rising to the occasion in similar ways.

One follower wrote,

“This made me cry. Kids understand more than we think. Florence is an angel on earth.”

As Isaac continues his journey, it’s clear he has someone truly special walking alongside him — a little sister who sees beyond his condition and chooses to love, help, and protect him with all her heart.

This story reminds us all of the quiet, powerful bonds that can grow between siblings — and how sometimes, the smallest among us carry the biggest hearts.

Alexander Isak bombshell drops as report confirms how much Liverpool are willing to pay for Newcastle superstar

Liverpool have re-emerged in the race to sign Newcastle United star Alexander Isak and a new report has revealed exactly how much they’re ready to pay.

Alexander Isak bombshell drops as report confirms how much Liverpool are willing to pay for Newcastle superstar

Just three weeks after lifting the 2024/25 Premier League title, Liverpool have already been busy in the transfer market, signing right-back Jeremie Frimpong as their replacement for Trent Alexander-Arnold.

Shortly after completing the signing of Frimpong, reports claimed that Liverpool had agreed a Premier League record deal for his former Bayer Leverkusen teammate Florian Wirtz, with Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez also expected to join the Reds.

But it appears that Liverpool will not stop there, as a new report has claimed that they are now exploring a deal for top transfer target Isak, who has attracted interest from several major clubs this summer.

Off the back of an incredible season for Newcastle United, Isak emerged as one of the most exciting strikers in the world, leading to links with Arsenal, Barcelona and several other massive clubs.

However, a report from GiveMeSport suggests that it is Liverpool who are the favourites to sign the Swedish international, and they are prepared to break the British transfer record for a second time this summer in order to do so.

The report claims that Liverpool view Isak, who scored 26 goals and assists six across 42 appearances in all competitions, as their dream signing and are willing to go all out to pursue him.

Following Newcastle securing qualification for the next season’s Champions League, it is believed that Newcastle will demand a bid upwards of £150million if they are even to consider selling their star player.

Although this astronomical price tag would be off putting to many of the other clubs interested in Isak, it is believed that Liverpool are not ruling out such a large bid, if they feel that they can make a deal work.

In order to do so, Liverpool hope that they can secure a respectable transfer fee for out-of-form striker Darwin Nunez, who has been heavily linked with a move to Napoli, Atletico Madrid and several Saudi Pro League sides.

The Uruguayan is just one of several forwards that could leave Anfield this summer, with the likes of Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz and Diogo Jota all potential outgoings.

Should any of these attackers be sold, then Liverpool will look to spend the money raised on a deal for Isak or, failing that, they will accelerate their pursuit of other strikers, including Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Julian Alvarez.

Liverpool fans have issued a warning to Real Madrid after seeing what Trent Alexander-Arnold did just minutes into his debut.

Liverpool fans send warning to Real Madrid after seeing what Trent Alexander-Arnold did just minutes into his debut

Alexander-Arnold was handed a place in the starting XI for Real’s Club World Cup opener against Al Hilal following his high-profile transfer from Liverpool.

He took up a position at right-back and Liverpool fans were quick to react to his first showing for his new club.

Al Hilal got off to a blistering start and enjoyed spells of success from the England international’s side.

The Saudi Pro League side capitalised on Alexander-Arnold’s mistake in the 19th minute as Renan Lodi opened the scoring before his effort was ruled out for offside.

The moment prompted Liverpool fans to send a warning to Real, claiming it was a ‘sample’ and a ‘taste’ of things to come.

One X user wrote: “Real Madrid just got a sample of the defending they can expect from Trent Alexander-Arnold. He’s lucky that flag went up lol.”

A second added: “Real Madrid just got a taste of Trent Alexander-Arnold having next to zero defending instincts.”

A third commented: “Get used to it lads.”

Another said: “Looooool 18 mins in and Trent Alexander-Arnold was out of position got done by Renan Lodi, who scored, but it was offside.”

Alexander-Arnold, however, showed off his range of passing when he picked out a pass to set up a stunning counter-attack, resulting in a goal – with Gonzalo Garcia slotting home from close range.

He has also been stepping into midfield rather than staying wide, attempting to influence the game.

Al Hilal levelled just seven minutes later when Ruben Neves sent Thibaut Courtois the wrong way to convert a penalty.

Speaking at the break, former Champions League winner John Obi Mikel said Alexander-Arnold must ‘tighten’ up his defensive work but hailed his ability to go forward.

For once, today’s hospital visit wasn’t about Isaac — but that didn’t stop him from showing up with his usual charm, compassion, and quiet courage.

Not His Appointment, But Still Her Hero: Isaac Kearney Supports His Little Sister at the Hospital

In a tender moment shared by his mum, Melissa Kearney, on Isaac’s official Facebook page, fans got to see a new side of the young star. She wrote:

“So today’s hospital appointment isn’t actually for Isaac, for once😬

But he’s here supporting his little sister and encouraging her to be brave❤️”

The photo and caption immediately struck a chord with followers, with many praising Isaac not just for his usual energy and charisma, but for his gentle heart and emotional maturity.

It’s easy to celebrate a child for their public moments — their smiles, their talents, their viral clips — but it’s in moments like this that we see the real character behind the camera: a big brother standing tall beside his little sister, quietly cheering her on.

Whether he’s the one in the doctor’s chair or simply holding someone’s hand from the sidelines, Isaac continues to teach us that true bravery is just as much about support as it is about strength.

One thing’s for sure: the Kearney family isn’t just raising a star — they’re raising a solid, kind-hearted young man.
