The future of Juventus’ exciting frontman, Federico Chiesa, is still up in the air.
Marco Guidi, a journalist for Calciomercato, told TvPlay that the 25-year-old Italian was ‘inclined’ to join a team like Liverpool or Bayern Munich.
Essentially, clubs with a rich history, such as the Bianconeri. Large teams compete on the European stage.
That information, however, contradicts what dependable journalist Fabrizio Romano has learned.
‘I’m not aware of any negotiations with Liverpool,’ he wrote in his CaughtOffside Substack exclusive.
Not only does the Italian transfer expert note Liverpool’s lack of interest in Chiesa, but he also revealed that another Premier League club had inquired about his services.
‘Aston Villa asked for him two weeks ago but there was no chance,’ Romano added
In any case, it is abundantly clear that the Serie A giants will not let their players leave on the cheap, if at all.
‘Juventus would only sell Chiesa for a lot of money, around €65/70 million; otherwise, they’d be happy to keep him,’ Romano said.
With only a few weeks left in the summer window, there’s still plenty of time for deals to close, and as we get closer to the finish line, there are bound to be some last-minute surprises.
From Chiesa’s perspective, there doesn’t appear to have been any public comment from either the player or his representatives, implying that he’s quite content where he is.
Unexpected situations arise in the transfer market all the time, so you can never say never until this current window closes.
