Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool could be about to miss out on the signing of Southampton defensive midfielder Romeo Lavia to Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea.
90min has reported that Chelsea are close to finalising an agreement with Southampton over the signing of Liverpool target Romeo Lavia.
Liverpool target Romeo Lavia could join Chelsea
The report has claimed that Chelsea are close to agreeing a £55 million deal with Southampton for Lavia.
Liverpool have had three bids for the Belgium international defensive midfielder, according to the report.
Journalist Ben Jacobs has reported on Twitter that Lavia has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea.

It seems that the former Manchester City prospect has made a U-turn over a potential move to Liverpool.
It was only on Thursday that journalist Sacha Tavolieri reported on Twitter that Lavia wants to join Liverpool this summer despite knowing that Chelsea want to sign him.
Lavia agreeing personal terms with Chelsea suggests that he has decided not to try to join Liverpool.
🔴🇧🇪 Situation remains the same and his mind, clear. Even after bid of Chelsea rejected of this morning, I’ve been told Romeo #Lavia likes Liverpool and wants to be in #LiverpoolFC.

And we cannot blame him.
According to 90min, Southampton want £50 million for Lavia.
Liverpool are not ready to pay that sum.
Chelsea are willing to cough up £55 million for the teenager.
It shows that Chelsea are more determined to sign Lavia than Liverpool are.
So, we are not surprised that the 19-year-old has decided to move to Chelsea now and has already personal terms with the former Premier League and UEFA Champions League winners.
Lavia has made 29 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The teenager has scored one goal in those games.
Both Liverpool and Chelsea are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
Liverpool will actually try to win the title, while for the Blues, a return to the UEFA Champions League will be the main objective this campaign.
