Liverpool have completed deals for Leicester City midfielder Trey Nyoni and West Ham United centre-back Amara Nallo
Liverpool have bolstered their Academy ranks with the signings of 16-year-old duo Leicester City midfielder Trey Nyoni and West Ham centre-back Amara Nallo.
The duo will both go straight into the Reds U18s squad where they will work under coach Marc Bridge-Wilkinson.
Highly-rated midfielder Nyoni, who turned 16 in June, broke into the Leicester under-18s side as a 15-year-old last season and made 13 appearances in the U18 Premier League South, while also featuring twice in the FA Youth Cup.
The youngster has already represented England at U16 level but also has Zimbabwe citizenship through his family.
“It’s really good to see Trey get on the scoresheet with a great individual goal,” said Leicester U18s coach Adam Barradell after Nyoni netted in a win over Brighton in March. “He moved into the U18s squad just before Christmas and he’s getting to grips with U18s football. He’s a young boy and he’s had a good impact on the group which is pleasing to see.”
Nallo, who is 17 in November, made his U18s debut for West Ham last season and had signed a scholarship deal for the club in May.
“I would describe Amara as a Rolls Royce of a centre-back,” said Hammers U16s coach Carlton Cole earlier this year. “He has a great left foot and is elegant when he moves with the ball. He can play the ball with both feet and has been working on his heading as well. He’s a player who has a high ceiling.”
Liverpool have previously bought a number of players to bolster the Academy ranks, including Bobby Clark, Ben Doak, Stefan Bajectic and Kaide Gordon, who have all since featured for the first team under Jurgen Klopp. Calum Scanlon, who played during pre-season, is another such signing.
