Regarding two Liverpool players who won’t be available for Sunday’s Premier League match against Newcastle, Neil Jones has provided a heartening injury report.
Curtis Jones, Thiago Alcantara, and Ibrahima Konate will not play against the Magpies, according to Jurgen Klopp, who said this in his pre-game press conference on Friday morning (LFC official website).
However, the journalist has shared encouraging news about the midfield pair on his Covering Liverpool YouTube channel.
“Curtis has had an ankle issue, but Jurgen said he should be back in training on Monday, which is encouraging,” said Neil Jones. It isn’t a permanent injury. He is someone who could use some good fortune. He would be a valuable addition to Liverpool’s team going forward.
“Thiago is also anticipated to return to training in full on Monday. He’s been recovering from hip surgery at the tail end of last season with a little bit of a delay. Liverpool will approach him with a lot of caution.
Curtis Jones and Thiago Alcantara will resume training on Monday and should be available for Newcastle’s match against Aston Villa.
It will be greatly appreciated by Klopp and Liverpool for both players to resume full training on Monday after missing the Bournemouth game six days ago and the last four months, respectively.
Let’s hope injuries aren’t a reoccurring theme throughout the season because they have been the misery of many Reds fans’ lives in the past year.
