Liverpool change Ryan Gravenberch transfer plan after 'striking contract agreement'

Liverpool and Manchester United have both been linked with a summer move for Ryan Gravenberch, but the Reds could now hold the advantage with United looking elsewhere

Liverpool have opened formal talks with Bayern Munich over a deal for Ryan Gravenberch after Manchester United made their move for Sofyan Amrabat.

Gravenberch, 21, has been on the radar of both the Reds and United ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline, with the midfielder open to a move after starting just three matches in the Bundesliga last season.

Liverpool and United are both expected to bring in midfield reinforcements before the transfer window shuts – and with United now actively pursuing a move for Amrabat, the path has been cleared for Liverpool to try and strike a deal with Bayern Munich.
