Liverpool are now ready to make their move to sign £26m player today – Fabrizio Romano

Liverpool are ready to submit an official bid to sign Ryan Gravenberch from Bayern Munich.

News broke last night that the Reds were in active discussions with Bayern over a deal for the 21-year-old. But with a fee still to be agreed, there appeared a little way to go.

Now, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano on Twitter, Liverpool are ready to hold up their end of the bargain. A bid is on the way.

“Understand Liverpool have confirmed to Bayern they’ve official bid ready to be submitted for Ryan Gravenberch,” the transfer expert reports.

“Clubs in contact since Monday, formal process will start once Bayern will give green light as they need replacement. Gravenberch wants Liverpool move.”

Liverpool ready Gravenberch bid

Following news that Gravenberch is not in team training with Bayern today, this now feels like a matter of time.

After Romano’s update, Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg posted his own, slightly different report on Twitter.

“Ryan Gravenberch is still waiting for the [green] light to leave FC Bayern today,” says the journalist. “He’s not in team training as reported – and ready to join Liverpool! But no total agreements yet. Negotiations ongoing.”

If this transfer is a matter of money alone, then it feels certain to be done. Plettenberg had previously claimed that Bayern would want around £26m for Gravenberch, with other reports placing the desired fee at more like £35m.

But if – as Romano suggests – Bayern need to find a replacement first, it could be a little more tricky.

It’s been claimed that Fulham’s Joao Palhinha is their pick. With the Cottagers certain to demand a massive fee for the 28-year-old, that may prove to be a sticking point.

Either way, this looks to be moving quickly. Get that bid in Liverpool, and no more low-balling!
