Alan Sugar says he is ‘confused’ by Al-Ittihad’s actions after the Saudi Arabian side saw a £150 million bid for Mohamed Salah rejected on transfer deadline day by Liverpool.
The ever-growing Saudi Pro League has been the talk of the 2023 summer transfer window, and you would imagine it will continue to make the headlines in years to come.
But former Tottenham Hotspur chairman Alan Suger doesn’t understand the motives behind the Saudi league clubs signing these players because he can’t seemingly see an end goal, as he posted on Twitter.
Well, those in Saudi Arabia are pushing for perhaps their biggest deal yet, as they try to lure Mo Salah away from Liverpool.
Whilst the Saudi window closes next week, it’s not the case for those in England, with the English window slamming shut on Friday at midnight, so despite £150 million being put on the table for a 31-year-old, Liverpool have outright rejected that offer, as reported by BBC Sport.
Things could yet take more twists and turns because hours remain before the window slams shut, with English businessman and Billionaire, Alan Sugar, sharing his thoughts.
“I don’t get it what do Al- Ittihad want with players?” questioned Sugar “Can someone explain to me what their game plan is?
“They can’t win the World Cup but maybe they can try to qualify one day for the Champions League. CONFUSED.”

Liverpool reject Mo Salah offer
This is a big move by Liverpool because there will be some, even those with Liverpool colours on, thinking that such a deal should be accepted.
The simple reason is that the long-term future of the club needs to be looked out, as well as the fact that Salah is 31.
But, on the other foot, he is way too important to Klopp’s team, as everyone saw last season how they struggled, so imagine what they would be like without his goals?
