Sky Sports journalist Melissa Reddy has said that Liverpool forward Mohamed Salah has not told manager Jurgen Klopp that he wants to leave.
Melissa Reddy has said live on Sky Sports News (9:09pm, September 1, 2023) that Mohamed Salah has been professional during training sessions at Liverpool and has not given manager Jurgen Klopp any indications that he wants to leave amid interest from Saudi Arabia.
Earlier today, Sky Sports reported that Al Ittihad had made a bid of £150 million for Salah on transfer deadline day.
Liverpool had rejected it.
Al Ittihad were offering an initial £100 million rising to £150 million for the Egypt international forward.
According to the report, the Saudi Pro League club could come back with a second and improved offer of £200 million.
Reddy said: “My intel from Liverpool is that Mohamed Salah has been his usual self at the training ground, top professional.
“No drop in standards, no changes to his application during sessions, and crucially, I have been told that he has given Jurgen Klopp no indication that he wants to leave Liverpool this summer.”
Liverpool in a tough situation with Mohamed Salah
While it must be very encouraging for Liverpool fans to hear that Mohamed Salah is being very professional in training, we have to say that the Merseyside club are in a tough spot regarding the future of the Egyptian star.
What if Al Ittihad do offer £200 million upfront for Salah in the coming days?
It would be extremely tough for Liverpool to turn down that kind of money, even for Salah.
The Egyptian is arguably the best player on the books of Liverpool at the moment.
Salah is Liverpool’s main source of goals.
However, £200 million is a lot of money.
Liverpool owners FSG would have a really tough decision to make if they were offered £200 million for Salah in the coming days.
And let us not forget that Liverpool will not be able to replace Salah until January 2024 if he leaves.
