The most recent Mohamed Salah interest from Saudi Arabia is among the latest Liverpool transfer news, rumors, gossip, and conjecture. Trent Alexander-Arnold, Ibrahima Konate, and other players have all recently suffered injuries.
Although the English transfer market is officially closed, Saudi Arabian teams may still sign players for two more days, which means speculation regarding Mohamed Salah’s future will continue.
We’ll keep you updated on his future as it looks that a group from Al Ittihad is determined to make a final £200 million push to recruit the Egypt star from Liverpool.
We’ll also get injury updates following the withdrawals of Ibrahima Konate from the French national team and Trent Alexander-Arnold from the England team.
‘Regret’ for Valverde
Considering Liverpool’s alleged interest, Federico Valverde is already second-guessing his decision to remain at Real Madrid.
The Spanish newspaper Nacional claims that Valverde has “already noticed” that he won’t be Real’s “undisputed starter” this season.
The midfielder now “half regrets having made this decision,” according to the article, and the “best thing he could have done was to have packed his bags.”
Henderson makes Salah Saudi transfer claim
Jordan Henderson has backed Mohamed Salah to make a big impact if he joins the former Liverpool captain in Saudi Arabia.
The Egyptian was the subject of an £150m verbal bid from Al-Ittihad last week, which was rejected by the Reds. Club bosses remain adamant that the 31-year-old is not for sale, and consider the matter closed, despite the Saudi Pro League side plotting an improved offer before their transfer deadline on September 7.
Henderson called time on his Anfield career earlier this summer as he completed a controversial £12m switch to Saudi side Al-Ettifaq. And while he has briefly spoken to his former team-mate, they haven’t discussed Salah’s own future.
“I haven’t spoken to him about the situation,” he told the Athletic. “Obviously I spoke to him briefly over the past week or two in terms of he was asking if I was okay, everything was all right, how I’m settling in, the normal sort of stuff. I’ve sort of left him with this.”
Kylian Mbappe claim
Kylian Mbappe would reportedly be open to the idea of joining Liverpool next summer.
The PSG forward has continued to be linked with a move to Merseyside in the last few years and has come close to leaving his current employers on more than one occasion.
A fresh update on the future of the French star by L’Equipe via GFFN has stated Liverpool remains an option for Mbappe and that the player could be tempted should a bid be made by the Reds.
Liverpool may well have the funds required to launch a bid of this nature next summer if Jurgen Klopp’s side were to cash in on Mohamed Salah, who remains a target for Saudi Arabian sides. Matching Mbappe’s wage demands would likely prove a tall order, however.
