Liverpool are looking to carry on their good form following the international break when they take on Wolves this weekend.
The Reds will hope to build on their 3-0 win against Aston Villa, which followed a fine 2-1 away win at Newcastle the week before.
Of course, the key in those games has been Darwin Nunez and former Red Peter Crouch feels the Uruguayan now looks like a player who’s had time to bed in at the club.
Peter Crouch impressed with Darwin Nunez for Liverpool.
Speaking on the latest episode of his Podcast, Crouch was trying to predict the outcome of the game between Liverpool and Wolves this weekend.
And after going for a comfortable win for the Reds, Crouch commented on Nunez and how he and the other forwards now look like a group who have played together for a while now.
“I’ve gone with 3-1 to Liverpool. They’re clicking. The front three look like they’ve had a season together. I think Nunez is bang in form. He scored a couple the other day,” Crouch said.
Of course, Nunez was key for the Reds as they won at Newcastle after being one down.
And with competition so high in the Liverpool ranks right now, a fully fit and in-form Nunez is a huge boost for Jurgen Klopp.
RTK’s View: Proving his worth
The money spent on Nunez, a huge fee, and a reported contract worth £140k-a-week, means Liverpool does need to see some results from their man.
But as Crouch says here, there are signs that things are starting to come together for Nunez and the other Liverpool forwards now.
Nunez looks – at times – like he’s one of the best forwards in the world. Pace, power, height, and ruthless finishing in recent weeks, mean he pretty much has everything in the locker.
If Nunez can carry on this season what he’s shown recently, then Liverpool could be in for a big year.
