Liverpool ended up cruising past Wolves in the end today as they produced a stirring second half display to win at Molineux.

Cody Gakpo got the leveller before Andy Robertson fired in to make it 2-1 not long after. Harvey Elliott then put the seal on the win with a shot fro the edge of the box.

And watching on, former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher admitted he was delighted with what Elliott showed.

Jamie Carragher praises Harvey Elliott after Liverpool v Wolves

Elliott’s impact off the bench was once again excellent. The former Fulham youngster is showing himself as a top player this season and Jurgen Klopp will be delighted.

And taking to social media immediately after the game, Carragher took to his X account to sing the praises of Elliott, who he regarded as ‘excellent’.

Elliott, who reportedly earns a modest £40k-a-week at Anfield, is proving to be a fine addition for Liverpool since they pinched him from Fulham.

And if he can keep scoring goals like he did today, then he could be a very valuable player for the Reds as the season progresses.

RTK’s View: Showing his class

There’s always been glimpses of the quality Harvey Elliott has and it looks like this could be the year that he shows even more.

Breaking into the Liverpool XI on a regular basis is always going to be a difficult ask for Elliott. But if he can keep doing what he is doing and force Klopp’s hand, then he could be a regular.

Elliott is still a young man and has a long career ahead of him. But this feels like a big season for him and one where he can well and truly show just why the club brought him in.
