The transfer window may have slammed shut a fortnight ago, but that has not stopped the questions about Mohamed Salah’s future.
The Egyptian attacker was heavily linked with a record-breaking move to Saudi Arabia in the closing days of the summer window. Ultimately, he stayed at Anfield, with Liverpool chiefs rejecting a £150million bid from Al-Ittihad on deadline day.
But with only two years to run on his current contract, more questions look likely to arise between now and the opening of the January window, with boss Jurgen Klopp already growing weary. Here, Mirror Football rounds up all the latest Liverpool news.
Liverpool urged to sell Salah
Former Liverpool star Peter Crouch has urged the Reds to sell Mohamed Salah if they receive a big bid from Saudi Arabia next summer. Crouch believes it would be ‘best for all parties’ if he moves on at the end of the season for a large fee.
“Even the most staunch Liverpool supporter would understand. It’s not going to go away. The Saudis have proven if they want someone they will invariably get them and with Salah I think it will rumble on this season,” Crouch told Mirror Football.
“He will be totally dedicated to them this season but it might work for both parties really if they get a big fee for him and for him there’s the obvious financial gains of playing in Saudi Arabia.”
Alexander-Arnold ruled out of Wolves clash

Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of Liverpool’s trip to Wolves on Saturday with a hamstring injury. He limped out of the win over Aston Villa, with boss Jurgen Klopp now confirming he faces a period on the sidelines.
“He’s not available. We knew that before. It’s not the worst hamstring injury but it’ll barely heal in two weeks and this one didn’t. We hope he can start ball work early next week, we’ll go from there,” Klopp said.
“Thiago is back running. Ibou has trained for two days with the team. I’ve not seen Darwin yet, we will see. Quansah has trained the full week with us.”
Klopp fumes at transfer questions
Jurgen Klopp has been left fuming after being questioned on the future of Salah during his press conference previewing Liverpool’s trip to Wolves. Salah was the subject of a £150m bid from Al-Ittihad on summer transfer deadline day.
But while that bid has been turned down, questions over the future of Salah have not gone away. The Reds boss is clearly losing his patience with those questions and vented his anger at journalists on Friday.
He said: “A week after it closed you ask me about the January transfer window! You can’t wait until December to ask these questions? I’m not worried about and wasn’t until you opened the wound again. I’m not worried.”
