Liverpool and Chelsea target Nicolas Gonzalez names which club he 'hopes' to join

Fiorentina star Nicolas Gonzalez has named the club he ‘hopes’ to play for amid speculation linking him with a move to Chelsea and Liverpool.

The 25-year-old is believed to be wanted by the Premier League duo ahead of the summer transfer window.

Gonzalez has made his name in Italy, having starred for Fiorentina. He’s scored 29 goals in 92 appearances for the Italian side and has enjoyed a prolific start to the new season.

He has seven goals to his name this campaign, with his talents attracting clubs in England.

But before a potential switch to the Premier League, Gonzalez, who started his career in his native Argentina, harbours ambitions of playing for River Plate.

“I really want to play for River. I want my brother to see me in that shirt. It would be very special. But today I’m in Europe. One day I hope it will come true,” he told ESPN.

“I wouldn’t go to River for a walk. You have to win everything. I would love to win the Copa Libertadores and the championship. It would be very nice.”

Chelsea and Liverpool are keeping tabs on Gonzalez, who will reportedly command a transfer fee of £52 million.

The Blues remain in the market for new attackers despite splashing the cash during the summer.

As for the Reds, they could be plotting a move for Mohamed Salah’s replacement should he leave Anfield, with Saudi Pro League outfit Al Ittihad set to renew their interest this summer.

Liverpool have 'reached agreement' with £150m superstar that Chelsea and Man Utd wanted to sign

Liverpool have ‘reached agreement’ with £150m superstar that Chelsea and Man Utd wanted to sign

Liverpool have reportedly reached an agreement with Napoli striker Victor Osimhen.

Over the last few seasons, Osimhen has often been linked with a move away from Italian Serie A champions Napoli.

Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all been linked with a move for the 24-year-old.

However, it has been claimed that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Osimhen ahead of a possible transfer.

According to Italian journalist Valter De Maggio, via Area Napoli, Liverpool have an agreement with the player.

It has been claimed that Osimhen and his agent, Roberto Calenda have decided not to sign a contract extension due to interest from the Anfield club.

De Maggio said: “The parties had reached an agreement for the renewal, but then Calenda and Osimhen went back on their word. What happened? There was the inclusion of another club, from the Premier League. I’m talking about Liverpool.

“There would be frequent contacts, but I just learned something else: there would be agreements already reached. Let me clarify: the agreements would be between the Reds and the player, therefore they would not involve Napoli. I hope Laurentiis will be able to keep Victor Osimhen at least until June, but we can’t be sure.”

Osimhen played a crucial role last season as Napoli won the Serie A title, the Nigerian scored 31 goals and assisted five during a brilliant season.

So far in the 23/24 campaign, Osimhen has scored six goals in 10 games as Napoli currently sit in fifth place in the Serie A league table.

Liverpool join race to sign Jamal Musiala as ‘problem’ threatens Bayern Munich contract plans

Liverpool join race to sign Jamal Musiala as 'problem' threatens Bayern Munich contract plans

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Jamal Musiala, according to reports in Germany.

The Reds underwent a major midfield rebuild over the summer, with Jordan Henderson, Fabinho, Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain all leaving the club.

In turn, Jurgen Klopp signed Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch.

But the Merseysiders might not be finished there and have identified Musiala as a potential addition at Anfield.

That’s according to German publication BILD, who claim that Liverpool have had the 20-year-old “on their list for a long time!”

The report adds that Real Madrid are also likely to be among the clubs interested, having previously beaten Liverpool to the likes of Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jude Bellingham.

Musiala is under contract at Bayern until 2026, with the Bundesliga side keen to tie him down to fresh terms.

However, the German international has had to balance his game time with Thomas Muller this season.

The situation has reportedly become a “problem” after Musiala was promised he would “become the face of the club” moving forward, leaving the door ajar for the likes of Liverpool.

The Mirror also claim that Liverpool were interested in signing the midfielder’s club teammate Leroy Sane, and have identified the winger as their “top target” in the event that Mohamed Salah leaves for the riches of Saudi Arabia next year.

The 27-year-old has scored seven goals in 11 appearances for Thomas Tuchel’s side this season, with Liverpool allegedly prepared to break their club transfer record in order to land the player.

Speaking in an interview in 2018, Sane admitted that he was talking to Klopp ahead of his transfer to Manchester City.

“Yes, I was also talking with them,” he said.

“Jurgen was calling me too, talking to me. That was before I joined City. He did a good job at [Borussia] Dortmund – I met him when he was there. He’s a good guy, nice guy – honest. He [has] worked well with Liverpool.”
