Full breakdown of Man City’s 115 FFP charges as Liverpool and Arsenal await points deduction decision outcome

A date for Manchester City’s hearing into 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial rules has now been set. But what is the exact nature of the charges?

The lengthy list of charges was announced by the Premier League in February, which caused mass reaction across world football.

In a statement, City denied any breaches and added that they ‘look forward to this matter being put to rest once and for all’.

At a Select Committee hearing on Tuesday, Premier League chief Richard Masters confirmed that, almost 11 months after the charges were announced, a date had finally been set for City’s hearing.

He could not elaborate any further, but City’s Premier League rivals are at least one step closer to hearing an outcome to the case.

Masters told the Select Committee: “There is a date set for that proceeding. Unfortunately, I can’t tell you when that is but that is progressing.

“I can’t give any details on Man City beyond saying a date has been set, I can’t tell you when that date is.”

Should the Manchester club be found guilty of any charges, they could face a points deduction or even relegation, in the harshest outcome, from the top division of English football.

Here is a full breakdown of all the charges laid against City, and how many individual alleged breaches there are within each charge.

  • Failure to provide accurate and up-to-date financial information from 2009/10 to and including 2017/18 – 54 alleged breaches
  • Failure to co-operate with Premier League investigations from December 2018 – present [February 2023] – 35 alleged breaches
  • Failure to provide accurate financial reports for player and manager compensation from 2009/10 to and including 2017/18 – 14 alleged breaches
  • Breaches of Premier League profitability and sustainability regulations from 2015/16 to and including 2017/18 – 7 alleged breaches
  • Failure to comply with UEFA’s regulations, including UEFA’s Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations – 5 alleged breaches
