Latest Liverpool news as Brentford boss Thomas Frank responds to speculation he could replace Jurgen Klopp.

Brentford boss Thomas Frank has once again addressed speculation linking him to the manager’s job at Liverpool.

The Reds are currently in the initial stages of their search for a new manager after Jurgen Klopp’s shock announcement last month. Klopp confirmed in January that he would be stepping down from his role in the Anfield dugout at the end of the season.

Klopp has been in charge of the Reds since October 2015, winning seven major trophies along the way. Now the Anfield hierarchy will be beginning the process of searching for the club’s next manager for the first time in nearly a decade.

Frank is one name that has been tentatively linked with succeeding Klopp at the end of the season. The 50-year-old has been in charge of Brentford since 2018 and has guided the club to promotion to the Premier League and been a top-flight regular for the last two and a-half seasons.

The Brentford boss was asked about the initial links in the days after Klopp made his announcement. Now Frank has spoken about the tentative speculation linking him with becoming the next Liverpool manager.

There’s a lot rumours out there,” Frank told Sky Sports. “I think we all have kind of an ego and the ego likes that little bit of sugar but at the end of the day, I’m at Brentford.

“I’m very happy here. Do I have ambitions? Yes. Am I going to stay at Brentford forever? Maybe, but probably not.

“So who knows what’s going to happen in the future. What I know is that I’m here at Brentford and I’m very happy with it.”
