‘I’ve got an update’…TNT Sports presenter shares what Liverpool coach said about Diogo Jota’s injury at half-time

Diogo Jota was stretched off with a serious looking injury for Liverpool today as they took on Brentford in the early Premier League kick-off.

Despite going into half-time 1-0 up, the first half ended up being a bit of a nightmare as Diogo Jota was forced off with what looked like a painful injury problem. The Portuguese star was taken off the field in clear agony and his withdrawal followed an earlier injury to Curtis Jones.

Then, at the break, Jurgen Klopp decided to take off Darwin Nunez as well in what could be another worry for the Reds.

Of course, the big concern is for Jota at the moment and as half-time ticked by, TNT Sports’ Jules Breach shared what one of the Liverpool coaches had said about Jota in the tunnel.

“I’ve got an update on Liverpool’s injuries, Jurgen Klopp was not happy with some of the tackles in that first-half. I have spoken to one of the Liverpool coaching staff in the tunnel and they confirmed that Diogo Jota’s injury is to his knee. He was stretched off past me looking in quite a lot of pain,” Breach said.

Jota injury couldn’t be more badly timed for Liverpool

While the injury is a problem for Jota himself and everyone wishes him well, the issues for Liverpool could be even bigger.

Jota has been so important for this Liverpool team this season that with him now not available, the chances of winning all the competitions they’re still involved in gets slimmer.

Sadly for Jota as well, it looks like he might miss the Cup Final now and that is a bitter blow for any player at any team.

Hopefully, Jota’s injury isn’t quite as bad as it first looked and over the course of the week, there might be some good news about the midfielder to come.
