This is the reason why Endo got back at Liverpool before the end of international break

Wataru Endo is making an unexpected return to Liverpool ahead of schedule during the international break, much to the relief of fans, as his early departure is not due to any injury concerns.

Originally slated to participate in two matches for Japan this week, including a crucial 2026 World Cup qualifying doubleheader against North Korea, Endo’s plans have taken an unforeseen twist. The latter fixture has been postponed, presenting an unusual turn of events.

A statement released by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) conveyed that the match, originally scheduled to be hosted by North Korea next Tuesday, “will not take place as scheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.” This decision, made in consultation with FIFA and relevant stakeholders, comes following the DPR Korea Football Association’s notification to the AFC on March 20 regarding the necessity to relocate the match to a neutral venue due to unavoidable circumstances.

The ambiguous nature of the statement surrounding the postponement leaves observers puzzled regarding the exact cause behind the cancellation. Nevertheless, this peculiar development has inadvertently worked in Liverpool’s favor, affording Endo ample time to return to Merseyside and prepare fully for Brighton’s forthcoming visit to Anfield next weekend.
