Kate Abdo’s other half Malik Scott has responded to Jamie Carragher’s controversial joke made on CBS Sports.

Kate Abdo’s boyfriend Malik Scott has issued a chilling warning to Jamie Carragher following his controversial on-air joke.

During coverage of Arsenal’s Champions League round of 16 second leg win over Porto, Carragher caused a huge stir with a remark about Abdo’s relationship with Scott.

The Liverpool legend told Abdo that she was required to wear the Arsenal shirt he was sporting.

After explaining she was “loyal”, Carragher replied, “Loyal to who? Not to Malik.”.

Abdo would then respond, “What? Why would you even say that?” after an extremely awkward silence.

The exchange became a massive talking point online and now Scott, who is former WBC world heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder’s trainer, has addressed the controversy.

The 38-3 fighter says that the issue was not treated as serious by the couple and described Carragher as having a “runny mouth” and someone who is “not that good at reading the room”.

Speaking to Lord Ping, Scott said: “The only problem I have with things like that is if Kate feels some kind of way about it, she handled it very well.

“I thought Jamie was just being himself, sometimes he can have a runny mouth, sometimes he’s not that good at reading the room, sometimes he’s someone that can make beyond sarcastic jokes and it comes across as digging a little bit, especially if you’re dealing with a woman.

“But I don’t take it personal, it did not enter our home, it really was nothing, but in those types of situations my concern is more about Kate and her feelings, she is someone I’m very much in love with, so once I saw how she handled it, me and her discussed it, and that was that.”

But while Scott was calm about the whole thing, he did make it clear what will happen to Carragher if he does upset his other half in the future.

He added: “It was not something I lost any sleep over because I noticed the way Kate handled it was very, very well, and Jamie was just being Jamie and I have no problem with him.

“As long as Kate is happy, I have no problem. Now if he makes Kate upset then I have a serious problem and he’ll get a call from me, and if he doesn’t pick up my call I’ll show up in a physical manner for him.”

Abdo herself brought up the situation on the next broadcast, starting the show with a superb monologue where she branded Carragher the middle child” who “goes too far sometimes” and confirming he had apologised.
