Andy Robertson revealed just how much Mohamed Salah’s new contract at Liverpool has delighted the player himself and his teammates.

It was announced on Friday that the Reds legend committed his future to the club by inking fresh terms, to extend his incredible stay on Merseyside that began in 2017.
The news was not just well-received by the millions of supporters all around the world.
“Obviously delighted,” Robertson said. “A massive player, a massive personality within our changing room, has been crucial to what we’ve done this season and many seasons before that.
“The fact he’s signing a new deal is pleasing for everyone in the club. I think everyone will be happy with it, no more so than Mo. I’ve just walked by him there and he has a big smile on his face. Hopefully that can continue.
“As his friend, I’m delighted for him. But as a player and as somebody that belongs to the club as well, I’m delighted that he’s here to stay.”

Salah is Liverpool’s third-highest goalscorer of all time and continues to add more chapters to his legendary career at Anfield.
In terms of individual accolades, the forward is on course this season to win his fourth Premier League Golden Boot, as well as potentially claiming a second Playmaker prize for the most assists.
Those top-flight goal contributions – 27 goals and 17 assists – thus far in 2024-25 have helped put Arne Slot’s men in a commanding position to lift the title.
Robertson continued: “He’s massively important. He’s our main man, he’s our talisman [with] the most goals, the most assists.
“He’s the most creative player for us on the park this season especially. His standards have been really high this season.
“For us as a team, he’s our key man, he’s our main man and it’s important to keep hold of these players when you have them, especially when you’re at a big club like Liverpool.
“For the team it’s massive, of course it is, and we’re delighted that Mo will be here for the upcoming seasons playing that position and hopefully producing numbers like he has done this season.”
Salah and his Liverpool colleagues will look to end the week in the best way possible by overcoming West Ham United on Sunday to move a step closer to locking up first place.
The Reds have met the Hammers twice already this season and won both encounters by scoring five goals in each.
However, Robertson is expecting an entirely different challenge this time around now Graham Potter is in charge there.
Previewing the Anfield affair, the left-back said: “I think we’re always confident that we can get the three points in any game. But I don’t think the previous game has any bearing on this game.
“[There is] a new manager, a new look, a new way of playing for West Ham. I don’t think the previous game has any bearing whatsoever but we always look to go into games and get the three points, especially when we’re at home in front of our home crowd.
“Of course we’ll be looking to do that but they will as well. They obviously got a decent draw last week with changing things in the second half and being able to turn the game around.
“Their confidence will be there and we know the threats they carry. We know they’re a good team and we need to be at our best to get the three points that we really need.”
