Liverpool boss Arne Slot names five players causing a ‘problem’ for Federico Chiesa
The Italian has struggled at Anfield since his move from Juventus.

Arne Slot has admitted there are five Liverpool forwards harming Federico Chiesa’s hopes of regular first-team football with the club.
The Italian international has struggled since his summer move from Juventus, making just three Premier League appearances for the Reds and nine in all competitions.
Chiesa arrived at Anfield with high expectations, given his impressive performances in Serie A and for the Italian national team. However, competition for places in Liverpool’s attacking lineup has been intense, making it difficult for him to secure consistent game time. The Reds boast a wealth of attacking talent, which has limited the 26-year-old’s opportunities to prove himself in England.
He’s scored just one goal in that time, and that came late in a 4-0 FA Cup win over Accrington Stanley.

Despite his struggles, Liverpool fans and coaches remain hopeful that he will adapt to the demands of the Premier League. The physicality and pace of English football can be a challenge for new arrivals, but Chiesa’s quality is undeniable. Slot has acknowledged his talent, stating that his time will come if he remains patient and continues to work hard in training.
But he was given a rare 90 minutes in the 3-2 Champions League loss to PSV on Wednesday, and he was one of his side’s better players with a hand in both Liverpool goals.
His performance against PSV could be a turning point, and if he builds on that display, he may yet force his way into Slot’s plans.
