Just in: We have some fantastic news for Mo Salah. He deserves it

Mohamed Salah has received a Ballon D’Or nomination, marking another significant achievement in his career. This season, the Liverpool forward climbed to 5th place on Liverpool’s all-time leading goalscorers list, boasting an impressive tally of 188 club goals.

Furthermore, it’s worth noting that no other player has scored more Premier League goals than Mohamed Salah since his arrival at Liverpool in 2017, underscoring his incredible impact in the league.

Liverpool transfer news as ‘two more clubs want Mohamed Salah’ and Jürgen Klopp gets $2.5m boost

Liverpool

Liverpool transfer news: Mohamed Salah remains the name being discussed at length in the soccer world while Jürgen Klopp and the Reds will soon get a minor windfall.

On Thursday, the Saudi Pro League transfer deadline will arrive, but the speculation surrounding Liverpool star Mohamed Salah will be brought to a close even then.

While it will be nice to know for certain that a move away for the Egyptian will be off the table, Saudi Arabia will be back for a player that it craves at least as much as it did Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar. Salah, still in his prime, would be a much bigger coup.

Any exit, though, will have to be on Liverpool’s terms. That means not selling Salah now and holding out for a massive fee in the future, when the interest in the 31-year-old will be there.

By the time Salah leaves, the Reds will need to be in a position where they can effectively line up replacements and find some way of succeeding their main man — not an easy task, but literally impossible right now when the Premier League transfer window is no longer open.

Here is the Liverpool.com verdict on the transfer gossip to emerge around the Reds today, starting with the latest on Salah.

Mohamed Salah to Saudi Arabia latest

Liverpool still has no intention of selling Salah but the interest from the Saudi Pro League is not going to die down quickly even if the transfer deadline in the region tomorrow passes without another bid.

It is still possible that Al Ittihad will come back with another monster offer having already seen a proposal worth $251m (£200m/€234m) rejected, but even if not, January and the summer speculation in 2024 will be there.

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Kamil Grabara is set to move to Wolfsburg in 2024 and the Reds will receive a portion of the fee as a result of a sell-on clause agreed when the Polish stopper departed.

The Bundesliga side will pay $14.5m (£11.6m/€13.5m), Fabrizio Romano reports, with Liverpool getting 20 per cent, which equates to $2.5m (£2.3m/€2.7m). It’s not a game-changing sum but will help inflate the fee received from Copenhagen.

Liverpool.com says: Sell-on and buy-back clauses are a vital part of Liverpool’s transfer plan. Every little bit of money helps and while Grabara was not going to be good enough to have played for the Reds, he has now earned them a total of $6.6m (£5.3m/€6.2m).
